I saw this on another blog and thought I would check it out and have my blog analyzed. And here is how I rate based on the contents of my blog:

ESFP - The Performers
The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don´t like to plan ahead - they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

The enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation - qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

I believe that this is based on the Myers-Briggs Personality profile. Having recently taken this profile test for a class I am enrolled in, I think I scored the same on the test too. And it is a pretty accurate assessment of me.

My early Christmas present to myself

My husband and I don't really buy Christmas presents for each other. Maybe a small gift, but we don't buy each other expensive gifts. We never really have. I guess it's because we always seem to concentrate on buying things for our son and parents. And since we seem to get things as we need them, we don't really seem to see the point in getting each other gifts, well except when our son was little and Santa left us a package or two.

Last year I saw these lights while out shopping with a friend. I wrestled with whether to buy them as I really couldn't justify the expense. Of course, after Christmas, I thought about it again and decided to get them. The price was reduced and as soon as I hit the "order" button, the message came back that they were no longer available - the story of my life!

I had actually forgotten about them until this week so I went on line and found that they were again available. So I called the nearest store to make sure they had them in stock and off I went to buy them. When I got home, I immediately set them up. I love them. I am looking forward to setting up the fireplace mantle with greens and the candles and not having to worry about open flames. And the best part, which I didn't realize until I opened the package, was that the lights are adjustable - so they can go from a soft glow to a bright "flame."

So I will consider this an early Christmas present to myself. And I won't look for any packages under the tree!!!!

It Boggles my mind

You Are Boggle

You are an incredibly creative and resourceful person.

You're able to dig deep and think outside the box to get things done.

You are a non linear thinker. You don't like following directions

You draw your inspiration from the strangest places sometimes. You're constantly inspired.

Hat tip to Fr. Daren for this quiz. Funny thing is, when I was a teenager, I was addicted to Boggle and had both Boggle and Big Boggle games. I think I still have them.

The West Wing Revisited

The recent presidential election made me resurrect my DVD collection of "The West Wing." For the record, when the show first premiered, I wasn't the least bit interested in watching it. I don't remember why, perhaps it was on at the same time of a show that I was already hooked on, but suffice it to say, it just didn't appeal to me.

Then about half way through the second season, I watched an episode and I was hooked. Fortunatley, over that next summer, not only were the second season episodes re-run, but the first season as well. This of course prompted the purchase of the DVD collection for each of the seven seasons it was on. And this year I was glad that I had the collection.

So a few weeks ago, with a basket full of ironing to do, I decided to start watching the show from the beginning. And what a treat it has been. I forgot how witty and sharp the writing was and how interesting the characters were. It made me realize how much I miss the wonderful actor John Spencer who passed away before the final season. And how Kathryn Joosten played the motherly Mrs. Landingham, personal secretary to the president is now the neighborhood snoop Karen Mc Cluskey. But my favorite has always been Martin Sheen's portrayal of President Josiah Bartlet. What a wonderful actor.

So I will continue to enjoy the show as I iron, cook, blog and what ever else I can do within earshot of the TV.

It's over

Finally, television and radio without political advertisements. I'm glad it's over.

And how do I feel about the outcome? Disappointed. Yes, I am a conservative Republican who supported John McCain. I don't fault President Bush for the state of the US. In my opinion, the cause of the economic problems in the US are not because of one person alone, but rather had many factors. We have had a Democratically controlled Congress. Surely they should bear some blame for the legislation that was passed. Banks and other lending institutions for allowing people to borrow much more than they could afford. The American public for having eyes bigger than our wallets. The blame must be spread around for no one person is responsible for the entire financial state of the US.

And as for the wars we are involved in, certainly after the events of 9/11, we would all want Bin Laden brought to justice. And as for Iraq, we entered that based on the information that was available at the time.

So I will close by saying that regardless of who had won the election, the job is one that I wouldn't want if it paid millions of dollars. It is an awesome responsibility that very few would want. So I will continue to pray for the country and for our leaders that they will make the best decisions that they can.
