A good weekend for movies

This weekend was the first in about two months that we didn't have something to do outside of the home. So my husband e-mailed me from work on Friday afternoon and asked me if I wanted to go see a movie and go out to dinner. Wow, I can't remember the last time we went had a "date" night. And better yet, I got to pick the movie!

Not being as big a fan of movies where most of the action is caused by car crashes or dynamite, I chose the new movie "Dan - in Real Life" and neither my husband, nor I were disappointed by my choice. It was a wonderful movie about falling in love. I don't want to go into details, but I will say, if you want to see a good movie that has a happy ending, this is one to see.

Saturday night, after a day of puttering around the house and doing some much needed cleaning out of clutter in the house, my husband and I sat down to watch "Evan Almighty." Again, we chose a winner in this movie. It was a wonderful movie about putting your faith in God and doing his will. This was one movie that will remain in my DVD collection!

We finished off the weekend by going out to dinner with my parents and my brother and sister-in-law who are "up from Texas" for the funeral of my sister-in-law's mother. Although the reason for their trip north was a sad one, it was good to spend time with them, especially my brother who has a totally twisted sense of humor. We enjoyed dinner at a local seafood restaurant where the draw is definitely the food and not the decor. Suffice it to say, it is all American tacky, but the food is awesome!

And now the weekend is over and it is time to get resume the normal weekly routine (except that I am not one for routines) of doing things around the house. All good things must come to an end!

Thanks for the movie recommendations. Both are ones I have been wanting to watch. Sorry for your s-i-l's loss.
