I can park in the garage again

Last summer, we became the proud owners of yet another antique car - a 1940 Chevy. Of course, with that came the loss of our storage garage where two of our other three cars were being stored. And with that loss of storage space came the loss of my ability to park my car in the garage.

The hunt was on to purchase a building to use for car storage. Initially, we were going to purchase half interest in a warehouse that a friend owned. That didn't work out. So after reviewing the limited options in the area - an old fire house that our building inspector told us to forget, many other places that were too small or too expensive - we went back to original option. But with a twist - the friend was divorcing and needed to sell the entire space. Enter another guy from the car club and he and my husband bought the space.

But all was not well. The divorcing friend could not get storage space at first. Then, vacating his home with his former wife was delayed. Then he couldn't get people to move the car racks. Needless to say, my car was still in the drive way. And then the snow came. And more delays moving out the former tenant and moving our things in.

But this past weekend, with nice weather upon us, we helped G move some things out of the warehouse and Saturday, one of the two cars currently occupying our garage was moved. And my car had a home again. Of course, the worst of snow is hopefully behind us. So yesterday, we emptied the garage and cleaned it out - two garbage bags out, some other things pitched directly into trash cans and a load of car parts and supplies taken to the garage - creating a pretty neat garage with plenty of space for my car. The End!
